 Charles “Manson” Plante grew up in Natick, MA. (an hour outside of Boston) As a life long Hockey Fan “Go Bruins!” Some say he was munching on Hockey pucks before he learned to enjoy solid foods. During his high school years he began to express an interest in all things art. Some of his favorite artists include: Salvador Dali, Vincent Van Gogh, and Pablo Picasso as well as HR Giger, Paul Booth, and Chris Garver (renowned tattoo artist). After high school, Charles relocated to Salt Lake City, UT where he attended Salt Lake Community College. He began taking classes in art and film history. Some of his favorite films include: The Nightmare Before Christmas, Fight Club, Choke, The Dark Crystal, and Dracula. While in college Charles also began to rethink his interest in the art of tattooing and all things “INK”. In 2004 Charles met the love of his life, Alissa, whom he proposed to and married on New Years Eve of 2006. In 2005 he met “Storm”, a professional Tattoo Artist, and his lovely wife Renee. They have since formed a very close friendship. In 2009 when Renee and Storm announced their decision to open their own tattoo shop, Charles seized the opportunity to combine his artistic passions and funnel it into something that will hopefully become a life-long career. “Why not make a living doing something I love?” Charlie is now Apprenticing under Storm at Art On You Studios. |
